Sickness

Well, this is going to be a pretty short post. I have to apologize for not blogging very often this week. I don't know what it is about the month of February, but we have been plagued with sickness. Addison has had strep and I am dealing with headaches, congestion, and all over achiness. Not much new to write...anyways, our 4 year/6 year anniversary is coming up, looking forward to celebrating that! But for now, its back to cleaning and laying around in hopes of trying to feel better. Hopefully I will be back to myself soon =)

Same ol' stuff...

Well, not much new has happened. Church last night was wonderful! We are on "Science: What is the truth?" or something like that. It was so refreshing to be given proof that evolution is not real. I have always believed this, there was never any doubt in my mind that God was the Creator of all. The guy that is leading this study (On the DVD) said "IF the Cosmos..or evolution is real, then it either has to have a beginning point, or it has always been here. If either of these statements is explored and tested, BOTH theories lead back to God." That is the one thing that is never told to students in biology class. Another thing that had a tremendous impact on me was said at the beginning of the video. "You have to go out of your was to deny God's handiwork." It was also discussed, that EVERYTHING has a design. SOMEONE designed it. With evolution, it is believed that things appeared out of nowhere and there is no design. I just cannot believe that. I know everything has a design, and whoever designed it, was created by GOD. Everything comes from him. It was proven, in class, that ALL EVIDENCE SUPPORTS THE TRUTH OF GOD!!!! How wonderful is that??

Well, that was our class last night. It was amazing. This week has been a great week for us, and we are starting out next week with some wonderful things going on. The husband is getting baptized this Sunday at church. We are also dedicating the kids. With our oldest 2 kids, we didn't have a church home and had only gone a few times, but since having Kamryn, we decided that we wanted to raise all of our kids in church. We now have a WONDERFUL church home and are so excited about dedicating our kiddos Sunday.

So cute...Addison has her Wednesday night class "Bible Blast" and we read her the bible everynight...her bible. After that, we read her questions that she has to answer in class, and then we read this devotional book. When we tuck them in bed, I always pray with them. Well, the other night, I asked Addison to pray. Here is what the prayer said...the short version

"Dear God,
Thank you for today. Thank you for my mommy and daddy and Logan and
Kamryn. And God, Please help me and Logan to do good all of the days.
And God, please help mommy and daddy to not yell at us. And God, Can
You please bring me the kitty I saw in Walmart. And God, will you have it
at my house when I wake up in the morning? And God....(this went on for about 5 min.)
And, God, Can you say hi to Grandpa Simmons?
(Mommy, does Grandpa Simmons live on the ground, or does he live with God? He lives with God)
Ok, And God, can you say Hi to Grandpa Simmons for us, and keep him safe?
In Jesus Name, Amen"

"Mommy, after you go to bed, can I keep praying"

Of course I told her yes, and I also explained to her that God is NOT like Santa Claus, he does not bring presents to our house. It was just the cutest little prayer I have ever heard! Anyways, That is about it for today...I think. I need to go do some laundry!

My New Favorite

Well, for Christmas this year, my mother in law (a.k.a. Santa) put "Green Bags" in my stocking. I had NO clue what these were. She said "Oh, when you buy produce, you put it in these bags and it keeps it fresh for longer." I thought to myself "Ya, right, it will all go bad immediately." We are notorious for buying produce and it all going bad before it gets eaten. So, the next time we went to the grocery store we bought our produce and got home with it and put it in the green bags. A week later, what we hadn't used yet...IS STILL FRESH!!!!! I have some Zucchini in the fridge that has been in there for 2 weeks. I got out to check on it and possibly use it for dinner...it was STILL fresh!!! Bananas, usually go bad within a few days or so...I bought some Saturday...put them in the bag...granted, it has only been 2 days, they are still fresh and have no signs of going bad anytime soon. I was at Reasor's the other day. They had a package of the green bags for like 5.99. We picked up a package just because we have more produce here lately than bags. They are cheap, and you aren't wasting money getting produce that goes bad in days! So exciting.

Other than that, there hasn't been much going on this weekend. Just a nice relaxing weekend with the husband and kids. Kamryn is having sleep issues. Oh well, she'll get over it soon. Umm....not much else. Not a real busy week this week either. Kids have a dentist appointment Wednesday, we have church Wednesday, Logan has plans Friday and Saturday..Sunday, Addison and Logan are going to Playhouse Disney Live. Anyways...That's all for now. I also realized that I have only put up pictures of Kamryn, but I do have 2 other kids, just not many pictures of them, on this computer. I'll try to find some though

Not a great picture of Kamryn...

Logan...
I wish I had a picture of Addison on this computer...but I don't. I need to transfer everything over...So anyways, Bye...

Lazy Day

Well, last night when we got home from church, I told JD..."Fair warning...tomorrow is going to be a lazy day for me. I'm mentally exhausted." Well, for us, the past few days have been nothing more than cleaning, and going...We have had so many things to do, so today is just a lazy day for me. That is, after I clean...

Anyways, So let me tell ya, I absolutely LOVE my church. Last year (the last semster, if you will) we were in the "Crown Financial Study" class. That was such a wonderful class. It taught you to give everything to God, which is kind of obvious, since everything is his to begin with. I had never really thought about giving things like out TV, our furniture and material things to God. It has truly given me a different outlook on all of my possessions, and in going to the store. It is easier now to go to the store, because I look at something that I want and think "Is this something I want? or something I need? does God want me to have this? Will it benefit him?" So now, almost (and I say almost, because Hello, I am a woman and love to buy things) everytime I go to the grocery strore, the cart is filled with necessities, not junk. But, starting at the beginning of this year, a bible study called "The Truth Project" was offered, and we jumped at the chance to take this class. Our pastor is the leader of this study. It answeres questions such as "Who is man?" Our class last night was "Who is God?" It also asked "What is eternal life?" Such deep questions. This is a video series, and if your church ever offers it, I beg you to take the class. A passage in the bible came up last night about God being a "Jealous" God. When I think of someone being jealous, I think of envy, disdain, many negative things. However, we learned that it actually meant that God was passionate, and loving for being a "jealous" God. This is also the very reason that Oprah doesn't believe in Christianity. She went to a Christian church a while back and when she heard that God was a "Jealous" God, she didn't know how to react because she also thought it was a negative quality. She said she couldn't believe in a faith where God was "jealous." Anyways...just a plug for the class..it is amazing!

So, I went to the Dr on Tuesday, and anyone who knows my family history, knows that there are alot of health problems. Well, I never would have thought this, but I have high cholesterol. WOW! I'm 26. Then I learned that my husband also has high cholesterol, however, mine is higher. So now, I am expected to cook a low cholesterol diet (I don't know how to cook a regular diet) I looked into the "Cooking Low-Cholesterol for Dummies" book. I think that would be perfect for me. So..with all this being said. I am off to have my lazy day of playing with the kids, and crocheting. Yes, I crochet. It is very relaxing. So anyways, until next time! I will leave you with a cute picture though =)

Look what I can do!!!

So, before I get to my household duties, I thought I would post one more time...
Here is Kamryn and her latest accomplishment!

Welcome...

Well, I have been inspired. I admit, I have known about blogspot for a while. I have just never felt comfortable blogging to random people. I do blog on Myspace every now and again, but never anything important. I have yet to decide exactly what this blog will entail. Will it just be general randomness that I chose to write about? Will it be the goings on of my life and kids? I don't know. I guess you will just have to keep reading to figure it out. Also, How often are you supposed to blog? Once a day? Once a week? Every other day? Where are the rules of blogging? Anyways, my inspiration has come from my sister. She was the editor of the NSU newspaper and had a wonderful column every week. She has recently started blogging. If I knew how to put a link up to her blog...I would. I will figure it out sometime. Anyways, as I am at home with 3 kids, and tonight is church night, that means there is a house to clean and laundry to be done, kids to be given baths, and a mom in need of makeup and fixed hair. I will go for now. I am looking forward to learning how to use this thing. Until next time...Have a great day!
